Work to Happy Hour in Polka Dots

For those of you ladies that are currently working that 9-to-5 this post is for you! Sometimes after work you meet your girls for dinner or go for drinks with your co-workers, and you don’t have the time to go home and get ready. Today, I'll show you how to transform your outfit from work to happy hour!

Outfit #1: Work

If you're looking for a clean, simple and classic look for work, you can't ever go wrong with black and white. To add a little something to the outfit, I went for this cute polka dot blouse. I let it be the "centre of attention" and stuck to a black pencil skirt and comfy wedges. Sheer blouses are a MUST in any wardrobe, because they literally can be worn to work, casually tucked into jeans, and as you'll see in Outfit #2 loosely worn for the evening!

For makeup and hair I kept it very simple. Black winged liner on the top with a nude lip. Then for hair, I just took two strands from the front and pinned it at the back of my head, criss-crossing the bobby pins. It keeps the hair out of my face..plus it looks like I tried a little ;)

Paris

Today's post is a combination of my favourites right now: black, white, prints and denim! Denim is everywhere this season like I mentioned already and with all the shopping I've been doing lately I think I have bought enough denim to last my obsession for a little while! I think this jacket dresses down the outfit just right for more of a day time look, yet switching to a loose blazer would be perfect for night! I love how day or night girls in Japan get dressed up and wear sky high heels! I guess theres nothing really stopping me from when I return back to Canada:)

Sakura

Sakura (桜) meaning Cherry Blossoms in Japanese have been blooming all over Japan these past couple of weeks. They are so beautiful and ever since I arrived to Kyoto I have been waiting patiently to see the city covered in pink! So lucky I was able to get this shoot in as these flowers only bloom for a short 2 weeks!

I was inspired to put together this look because I have grown to really love the Japanese "cute" or kawaii style. Majority of girls here dress in this way with flowy skirts and pairing girly socks with heels or booties. This sock trend is very big here and although at first I thought it was a little strange I have now become quite fond of it! It's so sweet and adorable:) Sometimes you just need to give that 'unusual' trend a chance and who knows maybe you'll end up loving it;)

Style to Go

This outfit was another go to look during school for me last semester. Not only is it put together but it took me literally 2 mins to throw on. When it comes to getting ready in the morning we all want fast and easy. So let me tell you my super simple trick to getting you out the door a little quicker. The key is all black everything! Then throw on a printed scarf, coloured jacket and voila! Simple right? I am loving mine from Forever21, as the sleeves are faux leather and adds another texture to the outfit. Plus this olive colour is everywhere this season! Don't forget to have a few of these basic black pieces in your wardrobe to make your life a little easier for those busy mornings!

Weekend Style

This outfit is perfect for staying cozy while out for lunch with the girls or even on a date. Since winter is pretty much here I have been wearing scarves almost everyday now. They keep you warm and stylish at the same time! That being said, even throwing on some tights can allow you to keep wearing your favourite skirts all year long. I love this skirt for it cinches me perfectly in the waist, and the lace detailing as it adds that feminine touch. To finish the outfit off I paired it with these comfy booties I got in Harajuku, so I could last walking in them all day!
